ok so i was thinking about totally decking out my blog with Christmas things. then i thought it was kind of pointless since i don't really update that much. so i decided just to do a fun post in celebration of the season.

college update

ok so this is my spring semester schedule. (don't know why they call it spring when it starts in january lol)

*dev math 0310~8-9:20
*music appreciation~9:30-10:50
*dev reading II 0310~11-12:20
*microcomputer applications~2-3:20 lab-3:30-4:50

so those 2 developmental classes will complete the developmental series.. so that will be the last of those for me! after you pass those then you can take any class you want. which means starting nursing pre-reqs for me. :) i will use the same book for math that i have now... which makes sense because it's huge and cost $160! lol. they have book buybacks next month so i think i will get some of my money back for two of the books i have now. the music appreciation class is actually one of the pre reqs for nursing. you have to have an art credit because they want you to be a well rounded person or whatever. so the counselor told me i should just get it over with now.. and i chose that class because i took it in high school... so i already know alot of the composers and different types of music.. so hopefully it will be easy for me. the computer class just teaches you about all of the computer programs (word, powerpoint, office, excel, etc.) i know word and powerpoint good but not the others. she recommended that class so my transcript would have variety you know. i'm going the same days of the week that i do now. and i have a longer day but i will make it... i have a long break in between though from 12:20-2 and right now i only have 12:20-1. so i'm def going to take advantage of that time to do homework and stuff. i hope i like all of my teachers like i do this year... my friend had the math teacher i'm gonna have and she said she was really good. so i can only hope for the best! lol. i'm going to have 12 credit hours for this semester and then next semester i will have 13 because the computer class is worth 4 credits. so 25 credits for my first year wont be too shabby. :)

so the plan after the spring semester is start nursing pre reqs in fall of '09. (i'm considering taking one or two classes in the summer of '09... just because the more pre reqs you have done the better it looks when you apply for the nursing program). then in jan of '10 i will apply for the nursing program.. even though i will still be taking pre reqs that semester.. you don't find out if you are accepted or not until may. it will be so nervewracking! lol. and then i can only pray i will be starting nursing classes september of 2010. but that is still a ways away so i'm not even gonna worry about it! lol.

the tuition is $754 (it went up. sadface. lol.) but with all of the other fees and such that they throw in there it's $947 total. and i have over $1000 in savings so i have more than enough and you have to pay by jan 7th. i'm just gonna write them one big fat check so i don't have to worry about making payments! haha. i will just start saving for the next semester.

anyway.... besides school and work i don't have anything else going on that i can think of... i can't believe thanksgiving is in like two weeks. i think my reading teacher said we have thanksgiving week.. then another week of classes then the next week is finals! the end of the semester is coming quick! i'm not telling my boss i want to work during christmas break. LOL. i want some time off! i just want to work my regular hours.. oh and today will be 5 months that i have been working there... time has gone fast! sad thing is i still have 7 months till i can get pto. :( LOL.

so i guess that is all for now!

so 10 facts about myself? hmmmmm.

1. i hate driving! i don't care if it's traffic or not... i don't know why but if someone else can drive i want them to! lol. and i have major road rage. people are so dumb!

2. i'd rather not pay full price. what is the point of paying full price for clothes if you can go back 2-4 weeks later and get it on sale? and that doesn't mean i'm cheap! ha ha.

3. i love keeping my closet clean. i mean we spend so much money on clothes.. why not take care of them? my room may look like a tornado went through it but my closet looks perfect lol. i like having it organized. i have shirts on one side, pants on one side, and sweaters and dresses on the other. then i have all of my purses on the shelves. i really need to clean those out one day because most of them i will never use again!

4. i cannot turn my mind off. i always find myself daydreaming or thinking about other things. like in class... they will be lecturing and i keep drifting off and coming back. ha. and at work.. a customer will be talking to me or asking me a question.. and i'll be like.. wait.. what? ha ha. obviously i have no interest in what they are saying. lol. but the worst is at night when i'm trying to fall asleep. i can count on anywhere from 30 min to 3 hrs before i fall asleep. and believe me.. i've tried every trick in the book!

5. i love the Christmas season. i mean.. i love the day to. but the season is just the fun of it. all of the decorations, wrapping, cold weather. and just the mood you know. and the music of course. i listen to christmas music all during december. i love it. 99.1 plays it all the time and when they have commercials i have a cd! ha ha.

6. i am very picky. that probably isn't a good thing.. but that's just me i guess. a few examples are i have to do laundry my way. everything has to be folded and hung how i like it! and i am picky about food.. you couldn't tell by looking at me.. lol. but i don't like and won't touch and don't like the smell of certain foods.

7. i love making good grades. i mean i don't mean to sound ignorant but it just makes you feel good about yourself.. like you accomplished something you know.

8. i like staying in a routine... i like having a set schedule every week you know. i'm type A personality so i don't like anything spur of the moment lol.

9. i don't like any conflict. i don't like anyone or thinking that anyone is mad at me. it bugs me and it's all i can think about. i hate feeling guilty too.

10. i love when God answers little prayers. i don't know if i'm the only one who expierences this. but like it'll be something small like Lord, please don't let it rain when i have to walk to my next class. and sure enough it won't and right when i walk into my class it starts raining! it's little stuff that works out that way and you know it's a God thing!

a few thoughts...

in honor of fall and november being next week i wanted to put this picture up... it makes me laugh. lol.

ok so this morning i was thinking that i was determined to post again before another month went by... but i could'nt really think of anything to write about... anyway i was watching the Ellen show earlier this afternoon. i love watching it.. it's hilarious and so is she. the only thing that gets me is that we have totally different political views and today she said something that got on my nerves so bad. she said something about how Palin is trying to change the constitution by saying she wants to outlaw gay marriage. ok what in the world is she talking about??? they changed the constitution when they made gay marriage legal! we have to remember that the constitution is based on the Bible! and in the Bible marriage is between a man and woman. i don't know what constitution she is reading! gosh that makes me so mad! anyway... i just had to put that out there! oh and one more thing... what is the big deal about Elisabeth wearing a McCain tshirt on the view yesterday?? if Joy or Whoopi wore an Obama shirt they would make a big deal if Elisabeth said something!

anyway... i'm kind of excited about how christmas is working out. see.. i was worried that i wouldn't be able to be off the same days mom was... i thought christmas was on the weekend for some reason. but i looked on the calander and christmas eve is wednesday and christmas is thursday! so that works out perfect! i'm really looking forward to it. i'm going to get all of my shopping done before thanksgiving to beat most of the crowds. and wait to wrap in december.. cause that's just the fun of it!

today me and mom went to olive garden for lunch and it was nice to go just the two of us you know... then we ran by old navy real quick. i wanted to see if they had the velour suits. and sure enough they did! i grabbed like 3 different sizes to try on. i had no idea what i would wear since i'm in between sizes. anyway.... i got navy blue. they had that, black and light pink. light pink wouldn't be very flattering head to toe and so i thought the blue would be good so you can wear black or brown or whatever color with it. it's kinda funny cuz average inseam isn't too long for me (except for dress pants) and nina is taller than me and she has to get short inseam.. i guess i have longer legs and she has a longer torso. i told the cashier that i wanted to get them now because last year i waited until it was actually cold to go look for one and they were all out. ha ha. i also got another pair of just like gray pants and they are fleece on the inside.

oh and one more thing. i get paid this friday but the next check i will have over $1,000 in my savings! i'm excited. of course it will get pretty much wiped out when i pay tuition next semester but hey that's better than a loan! i've been putting half of each check in there and it's adding up pretty quick.

just a little update

ok so it feels like i JUST posted that i couldn't believe it was september and here it is.. october! september flew.. i think partly because of the hurricane and evacuating. it broke up the month and i didn't have school/work.
Anyway... nothing new is really going on. school started back up this week... alot of the campus got messed up and they had a big list of class relocations. luckily only one of mine moved.. my reading class/lab. it was in A building and now it's moved to S building which is obviously clear across campus. so here was my dilimma... my first class is in S and my second is in C with only 10 mins in between. it takes my friend about 7 min to walk from S to the cafe and the cafe is only half way to C building. sooo obviously walking was out because it would take me like 15 mins. so i have to park in front of the S building and then when class is over go and park in the main parking lot. so i tried that yesterday and it went well but it was easier having all of my classes closer together you know.. but oh well i'll get used to it. so anyway it's kinda cool having a class in the S building because that is where all of the health/science classes are in.. all of the nursing classes are in there too. you can see in all of the classrooms cuz they are just windows and the door is glass.. kinda like the patients rooms on the tv show house. so when i'm walking to class i can see people like sticking tubes down those plastic peoples throats and they have hospital beds and stuff too.. just stuff like that. it's pretty cool to see. that will be me one day! the semester was just extended 3 days and that will be finals week. so it's not bad.. i missed 5 class days so i'm glad i don't have to make all of those up!
so i guess that is about it oh and don't forget voter registration in texas ends on monday i think.. so don't forget about that! i don't want to hear anyone complain if obama gets elected and they didn't vote! every vote counts.. wouldn't you kick yourself if mccain lost by one vote?

LOL. luckily dad already got all of the debris picked up and its all in a pile in the front waiting for the trashman to pick it up. we went to kroger earlier and they still don't have alot of frozen stuff and meat but we were able to get a few things. i'm just glad i got to come home to electricity and that there wasn't any damage done to the house.

it was so weird and unexpected to evacuate though.. like on tuesday last week it was headed straight for corpus christi and we were just supposed to get some rain.. then all of the sudden wednesday it turned more north and every time i watched the news it was moving more and more north. i'm not glad a hurricane came but i am glad that we got to go away for a week and get a break and i had a really great time! hopefully we will get to come visit more often. now they are saying that my school won't reopen till wednesday so that means i won't go till thursday.. in a way it's nice but in a way i'm gonna have to make up those days sometime so it sucks. i actually enjoy going to school now so in a way i'm kinda bummed. anyway i hope and pray everything gets better for everyone else. peace out.

it's september already!

am i the only one who can't believe its already september? this year has flown! and it's been almost a month since i have posted.. time got away from me.

anyway.. nothing special is really going on. i'm staying busy with school and work... i'm a little overwhelmed with all of the homework but i'll get used to it. college is so much different from high school. i rarely had homework in high school.. and i dreaded going. now i have tons of homework everyday.. but really it's worth it because i feel like i'm actually learning something. of course there are things you like and don't like about every class.. but so far i like all of my teachers! i have been doing really good in math actually. right now it's like stuff i already know how to do but it's good to have that refresher because i haven't ever had a good math teacher really. and i've been doing good on the homework and actually made a 100 on my first math lab! (its on the computer but counts as a quiz grade. we do it online at home and then print out the results and turn it in.) i can already tell my reading class is going to be a challenge.. but i have to pass it so i can start nursing pre-reqs. and mental health was nothing like i expected! i thought it was going to be all book work and blah blah blah. it's nothing like any other class i've been in. he lectures.. but it's actually interesting.. he's really funny. and then we always have a group project.. and then he discusses whatever we did. like yesterday we had to get into groups of five and pretend we were on the board of a counseling center and come up with a treatment plan for a teenager deciding whether to have an abortion or not. of course everyone had their own views and people were argueing (pro-life or pro-choice). but the professor said that when helping someone like that you can't let your own views get in the way. you have to have the best interest of the patient and not even think about your own bias. the whole group thing is still a little weird for me but i'm sure i'll get used to it. and another plus of that class is that we haven't had homework yet! my learning strategies class is going really good. the teacher is wonderful.. you can tell she really wants every student to do well.

other than that i can't really think of anything else.. work is the same old same old you know. so i guess that is about it. i need to go do my homework. hope everyone has a great week. peace!

i have been having this obsession with fruit flavored drinks lately.. idk why. i guess it's just a phase but for right now i can't get enough!

tropical citrus vitamin water. (energy). its addicting because it has caffiene but keeps me awake at school! it makes me pee like crazy though. the flavor isn't as washed out as the revive vitamin water.

i discovered this one at the cafe at school. snapple mango madness. it's soo good! i get one everyday during my lunch break at school.
fuze slenderize tropical punch. it only says slenderize because it only has like 20 cals i think. (which is hard to find in a fruit drink). it has a good flavor though and comes in a plastic bottle now instead of that glass one. but they are still just as big.

first of all.. i cannot believe it is already august! where has the time gone? it's hard to believe that a year ago this time i was getting ready for my senior year. crazy! it's a scary thought but before you know it it will be the holiday season! i'm actually ready.. i don't care about the gifts as much as the month of december.. just the season you know. i love the decorations and music and wrapping presents and shopping for other people. but i still like to recieve gifts as well! lol. luckily i have like the last half of december off from college for "winter break" but with christmas comes mid-terms! ugh. lol. anyway.. i'm already looking foward to it because starting the wk of the 25th of this month i will only be working fri, sat, sun.





on another note.. work has been going pretty good. i don't dread going as much because i'm getting into the swing of things and i think my co-workers are realizing that i'm an ok person. lol. it always takes a while for people to warm up to you.. you know. so now i don't feel totally alone at work and i mean i probably wouldn't talk to them outside of work but it's nice to have someone to talk to you know. there is one lady that is in her 50's and i don't talk to her much and samantha the girl that is 18 left for college already. iris is 19, elayna is 23, julia is 24. and when you think about it they are not that much older than me and its weird to think that someone in their 20's is around my age group lol. and mary and tammy are in their 30's but i get along with them just as well. now the new supervisors they have been hiring.. that is a whole different story. LOL. it has been soooo busy though.. with back to school & all. next wknd is tax free wknd which i'm totally not looking foward to! oh well right? it's funny now that i work there i always see people i know that i haven't seen in years. it's cool though. it's such a small world you know.



i work today then i'm off tomorrow and friday! yay! lol. i love days off!


luckily all we got from that tropical storm yesterday was a bunch of rain.. i'm just glad it didn't get bigger and we had to evacuate lol. so i guess that's about it for now. peace!

SCORE!!!

ok so i have had a few good things happen to me in the past couple hours... i just had to post about them LOL.

they have been making this big deal at work the past couple weeks about this event called the soco olympics. and basically the managers are testing us on our customer service skills-- but there is prizes. the managers are our customers and they will have a grading report and you are supposed to do all the stuff like they say like the GREAT thing and other customer service crap and do you want to apply for a penneys card and blah blah blah.

anyway i purposefully did not put my name on the sign up sheet! i mean wouldn't you think if there is a sign up sheet it would be your choice if you had to do it? i would be a nervous wreck and probably get a really low score. i mean.. i've only been there not even 2 months. that would be scary. and i was like oh crap i've already called in once. so today while we were recovering the supervisor comes on the loud speaker and was like if you didn't sign up we did it for you cuz we want everyone to participate. i about crapped myself. then the girl i was closing with, alayna was like i don't have to do it cuz i'm not opening or closing. the times for the olympics are 9 am and 10:45 pm. so i looked at my schedule and sure enough i work 12:15-8:15! so i lucked out! i'm so happy! lol.


one more thing. i decided i didn't want to go to new student orientation because i worked till 11:15 tonight and i would have to be there at 8:30 am. so i was like heck no that's too early. so i was gonna do the online orientation tomorrow. well when i got home i was like i'll go ahead and do it now and get it over with. they said it would take 2 hrs online. well turns out its a series of recordings and like power point type things.. of course i was bored after the first 30 seconds. LOL. then i realized you can click the link for the quiz and they don't know you watched the videos. so i was like.. maybe i can pass the quiz without listening to all this junk. so i tried it and sure enough i made an 85! minimum score was 70. they were like common sense questions and there was only 20 of them. so i just saved myself all of that time tomorrow! tomorrow will be my last day off then i work fri, sat, sun, mon, tues.


well i'm gonna go to bed now its about 12:40 am and i gotta be up by ten to watch the view! haha. just thought i'd share a little of my joyful happenings. lol.

just a little update

well i don't have a very interesting life lol but here is a few things...

i got my college schedule! i am actually getting excited. i really want to get good grades because it was such a good feeling last year when i did. well i don't want to put days and times on here cuz of weird petifile people but i am taking developmental reading, intro to mental health, psyc learning strategies and dev math pre algebra. and good thing is i only have to go two days a week! so i will have good availability for work. i am blessed to have an awesome manager and they are totally willing to be flexible and work around my college schedule. luckily.. they have already been scheduling me for most wknds so i'm sure my work schedule won't change much. i am so glad i got that $550 scholarship that covers over half of this semesters tuition.. mom is going to try to pay the difference.. if not i will get a loan and i'm going to buy my books. they haven't posted the fall book list yet online but i hope they do soon! acc has their own book store of used and new books and they also do book buy backs so i will take advantage of that. i have new student orientation on the 31st.. which is maditory. ugh. lol. but oh well... once i get there i probably wont regret going. i wish it wasn't at 8:30 in the morning though! ha. they asked my tshirt size so maybe i will get a free tshirt out of it. lol.
well today is my last day off then i work a few days but i should have a pretty hefty check on the 1st. i think i will have 47 or 48 hrs or something. so that will be nice. my check tomorrow is only like $35 for saturday cuz we were on vacation you know.
ohh one more thing... i splurged the other day and got this awesome perfume at sephora.. i have been so frugal with my money and i decided to treat myself. its called pure grace by philosophy. i got the perfume and body wash in a pack for $50 which is a really good deal because if you were to buy them seperately then the perfume would be $40 and the body wash is $24. it smells so good though.. i have seen it on qvc like 500 times. but the idea is soap and water.. its really fresh it doesn't smell like perfumey or musky its like you just got out of the shower or something. and its stinky when you first spray it but then its activated by your body heat and smells so good. anyway i guess thats about it. peace!

i had such a great time on vacation. as usual it wasn't long enough but i really enjoyed it! i have to say.. it seemed like we were in the car FOREVER! i got so bored at times but it was worth it. i had never had a vacation where you didn't visit family so it was nice to go to mt. rushmore and stuff. i couldn't decide what was my fav! there was stuff i liked about everything. {mt. rushmore, caves, chair lift and slide, reptile gardens} i know one thing i will never wear jeans all day there again! it got hot! i think the count on the pics was give or take around 200 on kristinas camera but i just chose a few lol. that would be a very long post! ha. i am still dissapointed that stupid lady at the black hills took a blue picture of all of us. lol. oh well right. i know one thing.. i will not be having any mcdonalds, fountain drinks, or any fast food for a while! i got burned out. well i could drink fountain drinks everyday.. but they are really bad for you. LOL. i hope all of us can take another vacation together in the next couple years or so. it was really fun and different. i liked swimming too! i never get to unless we go to sd.. which is weird when i think about it.. lol. but ya i can't really think of anything to write about.. oh ya!.... i loved doing fireworks! i didn't get to do them last year cuz we are in city limits but i enjoy doing them so much! and i got to do the grand finale this year which was cool.

i had a great birthday! i got very nice gifts and cards. i got alot of stuff done.. (getting my license renewed and opened an account.) so anyway at txdot when i went to take a new pic the lady was like take your glasses off.. and i was like i never have before.. do i have to? and she was like ya its a new rule. so whatever. they better pray i was looking at the camera cuz i couldn't see it with out my glasses on! ha ha. so we got a early start and got all the errands done. i love love love my purse! its blingy! i have never had a purse that cost more than $30 so i feel rich! ha. but as always i am thankful to have lived another year and hopefully there will be many more to come!

it was a great weekend! we all had alot of fun. i am so thankful for all of my family and all of the gifts i recieved! and i am so glad that i am finally done with high school! lol.
